Good Riddance to Bad Asbestos

Staring Competition, Anyone?

One of Australia’s most despised politicians, Julie Bishop, has retired from politics, and the media has been eulogising the “impact” of this “trail-blazing woman” – heaping praise on a soulless succubus.  In doing so, they are attempting to white-wash a thoroughly horrendous example of a human and reset her legacy for the fostering of future aspiring soulless succubi.

For those who don’t know, Julie Bishop is a former corporate lawyer, famous for defending the owners and operators of an asbestos mine at Wittenoom in the north-west of Western Australia that has killed a couple or few thousand of its staff and members of their families by virtue of asbestosis and mesothelioma and the like.

This defence work for an asbestos miner was infamously crystallised by two alleged utterances from Bishop, which promoted procedural tactics to force claimants to trial and therefore delay financial compensation with the explicit aim of having the terminally-ill expire before the date set for the case, and also questioned and discouraged a judge from any re-scheduling of cases “just because they’re dying”.

So, Julie Bishop would happily do everything in her power to delay a dying person’s right to justice, in order to reduce costs for her client, all behind the veil of acting “ethically and professionally at all times in accordance with client instructions”.

I think that says enough about her character, if you can call it that.

She is also a plagiarist – alleged to have allowed her staff to cut and paste from the Wall Street Journal (a CIA mouthpiece, no less) to provide content for a speech she delivered to parliament.  And there are other plagiarism allegations against her.

I fucking hate plagiarists – I won’t even plagiarise myself.  Can hardly bear to even repeat myself.  Unless intoxicated and/or trying really hard to make a very important point…

She is also a history manipulator  – alleged to have instructed the retrospective editing of the parliamentary record, the Hansard, in order to underpin her defence of the aforementioned plagiarism.

So she is a liar, a plagiarist (and therefore a thief), and would happily watch you die if it helped reduce expenses for her client or in any way dilutes or delays the dispensation of justice to people killed by her client’s actions or in-actions.

But never mind all of that, she is a woman who forged her way through the murky world of Australian politics, always fighting the good fight against institutionalised misogyny, apparently.

Never mind all of that, she is a woman who stepped onto the world stage as Australia’s first female Foreign Minister, and spoke for all of us on matters of grave importance.

Well, that’s assuming she spoke any of her own words at all…

On top of all of that, she is a hypocrite, who castigated former PM Julia Gillard of losing touch by appearing in the media, reminding Gillard that “You’re not a celebrity, you’re an elected representative, you’re a member of parliament.  You’re not Hollywood and I think that when people overstep that line they miss the whole point of that public role.  Of course, people want to know more about you, but I don’t think you should be courting that celebrity status as if you’re a fashion model or a TV star, because you’re not.”

Says the person on the front cover of Vogue (as per the featured image in this post), and doing ‘work-out’ photo-shoots, and appearing on red carpets and always having the stupidest hat…

Vain Hypocrisy

On top of all of that, she is a ‘blocker’.  She blocked me on Twitter for the crime of mentioning asbestos in a tweet…

Enough.  Eulogising demons doesn’t somehow make them angels.  You’re all just lying to yourselves and the rest of us.  Stop it.  It’s shit.
